Description

The Red Legged Millipede ( Epibolus pulchripes ) is a striking African species, instantly recognisable by its glossy black body contrasted with bright red legs. Growing to around 12–14 cm, they are one of the more colourful and active millipedes in the hobby.

They thrive in warm, humid enclosures with a deep, nutrient-rich substrate, abundant leaf litter, and rotting wood. These peaceful detritivores are excellent recyclers, helping to break down organic matter while adding movement and colour to terrariums. Colonies breed steadily in captivity when provided with stable conditions and a healthy diet.

Hardy, eye-catching, and easy to care for, the Red Legged Millipede is an excellent choice for both beginners and experienced invertebrate keepers looking to add a vibrant and functional species to their collection.
