Description

Our Premium Custodian Substrate is a carefully crafted blend designed to meet the needs of isopods, millipedes, and other detritivores. Rich in decaying wood and organic matter, it provides both a stable habitat and a long-lasting food source for your custodians.

Formulated with soil, rotting wood, sphagnum moss, orchid bark, activated charcoal, and lime granulate, this substrate holds moisture exceptionally well while allowing for natural burrowing and microhabitat creation. The addition of lime ensures healthy exoskeleton development, while charcoal helps maintain freshness and prevent mould build-up.

At Micro Exotics, we use this mix exclusively with all of our isopod and millipede colonies with outstanding results. It is suitable as a standalone base or as part of a layered terrarium design.

Available in small (500 ml) or large (2 L) bags, so you can select the right amount for your enclosures.
