Description

The Giant Asian Mantis ( Hierodula membranacea ) is one of the largest and most popular mantis species in the hobby. Adults can reach an impressive 8–10 cm in size, with bright green or yellow-green bodies and the classic mantid stance that makes them such fascinating predators.

Sold here as L3+ nymphs, they are well-established, hardy, and feeding reliably. This species thrives in warm, well-ventilated enclosures with vertical climbing space, twigs, and foliage. Humidity should be moderate, with occasional misting to provide water droplets.

Known for being strong, bold hunters, Giant Asian Mantids feed readily on a variety of livefoods, including flies, roaches, and crickets. Despite their size, they are hardy and straightforward to keep, making them ideal for beginners as well as experienced keepers.
