Description

Armadillidium depressum is a distinctive pillbug species, easily recognised by its unusually flat, wide body shape compared to other Armadillidium. Native to Western Europe and commonly encountered in the UK, this species makes an excellent choice for hobbyists who want something both local and unique.

They thrive in well-ventilated enclosures with a clear moisture gradient and plenty of leaf litter, bark, and rotting wood. Although capable of partially rolling up, they cannot form a complete ball, which gives them a different defensive behaviour from other pillbugs.
